R1 Boot Camp Asynchronous Curriculum

Welcome to the Stanford Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Boot Camp Pre-Course!

Congratulations on joining Stanford University and our academic program as you begin your residency journey! We’re excited to welcome you to our team and to the world of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in emergency medicine.

This asynchronous pre-course curriculum is designed specifically for new intern residents like you – no prior ultrasound experience required. Here, you’ll find everything you need to build a strong foundation before our in-person hands-on training days. Narrated lectures will provide the basics of core emergency ultrasound applications at your own pace, and the eLearning Modules will guide you through image acquisition, interpretation, and clinical integration.

Your Next Steps:

  1. Work through all the pre-course materials at your convenience.
  2. Complete the knowledge assessment prior to our in-person session to ensure you’re ready for hands-on scanning.
  3. Bring your questions and curiosity to our in-person boot camp, where you’ll practice scanning with real equipment, on real people, under expert guidance.

We’re here to support you every step of the way. Welcome aboard, and get ready to take your first steps toward becoming an ultrasound-savvy emergency physician!
